Our COVID-19 Clinic Update

We hope this update finds you and yours safe and healthy. As of today, it appears that our collective efforts are having a significant impact on “flattening the curve” here in Ontario. At PinPoint Health we continue to try to do our part in fighting this virus by remaining closed for patient visits.

Virtual Appointments

In the meantime, we want to make sure you know that our clinical staff are here for you in the best way possible for the time being. We’re happy to say that PinPoint Health is now offering virtual appointments! If you’ve developed a new injury or are looking to keep up with the progress on something we’ve already been seeing you for recently, our clinicians are here to help. We can offer help in assessing your injuries and provide advice on how you can work through things at home. If you’re dealing with stress and anxiety our resident psychotherapist, Elle Bradley is taking virtual clients during the clinic closure. If you’re looking for advice on bolstering your immune system, weight loss, Dr. Tali Troyansky can also be booked for virtual visits!

Our fee schedule remains the same for virtual visits. Appointments are conducted via Zoom or FaceTime and payment can be processed by either calling in a credit card or by e-transfer. Virtual care is now covered by most insurance companies and an invoice can be emailed immediately following your session.

Emergency Care

We are working hard to procure the appropriate personal protective equipment to be able to provide care to those in an emergency situation best handled by our clinicians. We remain committed to doing the responsible thing for our community by remaining closed. If, however; you are in a situation where you don’t think you can function due to the pain or disability of a muscle, nerve or skeletal origin, give the clinic a call 905-294-0454 or send us an email at info@pinpointhealth.ca and we’ll evaluate these situations on a case by case basis. If we can’t help virtually, and we can save you a trip to the ER we will certainly do our best to help where possible.

The Community

Certainly, our entire community has been affected by COVID-19 so we’d like to bring attention to a few community initiatives where you may be able to help.

Participation House Markham:

Participation House has been providing support to adults with physical and developmental disabilities in Markham for over 48 years. As many of you may have heard through the national media, the Participation House’s Butternut Lane location which houses 42 residents, is currently fighting a major COVID-19 emergency. It appears that all but 2 of their 42 residents and a number of their staff have tested positive for COVID-19. Sadly two longtime residents have passed and three are currently in palliative care. PH is suffering from a major staff walkout and a severe shortage of personal protective equipment. Through initiatives put forth by community members and a major drive for PPE through the city of Markham, they are surviving day-to-day.

If you wish to lend a hand you can donate PPE directly to Participation House. It can be dropped off directly at their front door or if you have items to donate and can’t get them there, we’re here to help. Send us a note to info@activehelathcentre.com and we’ll pick it up and get it to there for you.

Markham Waxers:

Our local Markham Waxers Minor Hockey Association have started their #WaxersFightCovid19 donation drive. The Waxer organization is donating $50,000 to support our local healthcare heroes at Markham Stouffville Hospital, The Markham Food Bank, and 360 Kids (Markham based youth shelter and related services).

You can check out this link to support their initiative and check out some cool videos from Markham Waxer Alumni.
