Good posture offers many benefits to your overall health. It can keep your muscles more limber and give you more energy. You may also find that your body is able to move better, whether during sports or other forms of physical exercise.

Reduced Back Pain
If you struggle with back pain, poor posture could be the reason. When you have incorrect posture, it puts a lot of pressure on your lower back. In particular, there will be pressure on your back’s discs, ligaments, and muscles. This is simply because your spine is not being aligned like it should be due to a slouched position. Try to keep your shoulders back and sit/stand upright if you are experiencing back pain. You can also perform back stretches to try and relieve pressure.
Improved Lung Capacity
Slouching can lead to your lungs being compressed. Although this may not pose any life threatening issues, it can impact your respiratory system’s functionality. If you work on your posture, you may find that you are able to perform activities or simply breathe easier than before.
When you have bad posture, you may find that you are low on energy and unwilling to partake in physical activity. This is because your body is unable to circulate air properly and your bones are unaligned. If oxygen cannot be transported throughout your body properly, then it will be unable to deliver nutrients throughout your body for energy. Adjusting your posture can be the solution.
Standing up straight can increase your confidence levels. When you stand up straight, you appear more assertive and dominant as opposed to being slouched over. And, when others perceive you as being dominant and confident, you will believe it too.
