Hello from the PinPoint Health Team!
We hope that you and yours all remain safe and healthy. We are providing another clinic update as the climate for re-opening is changing so rapidly itâs the best way for us to keep everyone informed.
Urgent Care
The first update is with respect to urgent care. While our doors remain closed for regular elective treatment as mandated by our public health authorities, we are currently providing urgent care appointments. If you are in a situation where your pain has become intolerable and can not be effectively managed by a virtual appointment, we are here to help. Our goal is to keep our patients out of the Emergency Room and able to function in their daily lives. As such, we are scheduling urgent care visits. We hope to be in a position to return to elective care as soon as public health authorities see fit.Â
How We Are Keeping You Safe
Weâd like you to know what weâre doing in the clinic to ensure the safest possible environment for both patients and staff during urgent patient visits:
1) During urgent care treatments, only one patient will be allowed in the clinic at a time. These appointments are booked only after you speak with one of our clinicians and meet the urgent care criteria. No walk-in appointments will be admitted. Doors will be locked during each patient visit. We are using a âvirtual waiting roomâ service right now so if you arrive early, you can wait in your vehicle and we will gladly give you a call when weâre ready to commence your appointment.
2) Any patients who exhibit any of the COVID-19 symptoms posted on the exterior of the clinic entrance will not be permitted to enter the clinic under any circumstances.
3) Our clinicians will be wearing surgical masks, gloves and face shields. We ask that all patients please wear a face mask for your appointment.
4) An invoice will be provided by email following your appointment and e-transfers (preferred) or credit card payments can be accepted after your appointment. No payments will be accepted in the clinic at this time.
5) We will very thoroughly spray down/scrub and disinfect tables, door handles, and clinic surfaces in between each patient and have allowed a 15 minute period in between patients to do so.
Elective Care
It appears as though our collective efforts as a community, province and country are starting to help to reduce our daily new caseload of COVID-19. While things are looking promising, weâre not yet in a position to be opening our doors to elective care just yet. We will continue to provide updates as they become available.
Hockey Helps the Homeless Initiative
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) and Bardown have teamed up to create an exclusive, limited-edition clothing line called âStay the Puck Homeâ to support Canadaâs homeless.
From today through Friday, May 8th, 100% of net proceeds from the sale of the STPH Hoodies and T-Shirts will be granted to HHTHâs charity partners from coast-to-coast to support our communityâs most vulnerable. The funds will be allocated to the respective HHTH Tournament based on the postal code of the purchaser and available by the Committee to grant in support of COVID-19 emergency needs.
An Update From Dr. Jess Wingrove!
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy as we all work towards flattening the COVID-19 curve. As the weeks of social/physical distancing progress, it can be hard to stay motivated and occupy our time. So, I just wanted to share a couple of things I have been doing to stay busy and active.
First, there is a great yoga app called âDown Dogâ. This yoga app is fully customizable to create whatever style of practice you are interested in. You can pick beginner, intermediate or advanced options, as well as choose specific areas you would like to focus on, such as core strength, low back stretches, and neck stretches. This may be a great option for anybody struggling with low back or neck pain during this time, and a great way to change up your daily physical activity routine!
Second, I have found baking to be fun, cognitively stimulating, and delicious! There have been a ton of bread recipes floating around the internet. So, I wanted to share a great recipe that I have been using that is quick and yummy! This recipe only requires 4 ingredients, and no kneading is required (provided you can get your hands on some flour and yeastâĤ). Follow the link below for this tasty treat!

Here is a picture of how mine turned out.
Finally, I just want to reiterate that the entire PinPoint Health team is thinking of you and eagerly awaiting the time when we can safely re-open the clinic doors for ânormalâ operations again. In the meantime, we are here for you! If you have questions, comments, concerns or are in need of âUrgent Careâ please do not hesitate to reach out to the clinic.
Take Care,
Dr. Jess Wingrove.Â
