The Benefits Of Laser Therapy

Your body’s cells respond to the light waves created by lasers. It turns the light waves into chemical energy, which can promote healing. Laser therapy targets inflamed or injured tissues, stimulates the production of cells, speeds up cellular regeneration, and can help minimize the appearance of scars.

Here are some of the benefits of getting laser therapy.

Reduces Inflammation

Laser therapy can reduce inflammation or swelling of tissues or muscles. It is able to speed up the healing process and soothe underlying tissues and muscles, which in turn allows the inflammation to go down. It is also a painless treatment, and any painful injuries will not be aggravated.

Increases Blood Flow

When you have damaged or injured tissues or muscles, they need proper blood flow in order for them to heal. Laser therapy dilates blood vessels in the injured area. In doing so, it creates a bigger passage for blood to flow and nourish the area.

Customizable Treatment

Laser therapy can also treat a wide variety of injuries. And, depending on what you are suffering from, the treatment can be customized to speed up your healing process. This means very few restrictions for who can and cannot be treated with laser therapy.

Little to No Side Effects

After you have received laser therapy, there are few if any side effects. Although the area may sometimes be slightly sore, usually it will feel as though nothing has happened. And, there is no burn risk from the laser.

Eliminates Scar Tissue

Since laser therapy promotes healing, it will also promote the healing of scar tissue. This can help your joints and muscles feel more mobile and functional. It can also help minimize the appearance of scars on your skin.
