We feel back pain; we take pain relievers. If the pain persists, we go to the doctor who might prescribe muscle relaxants. Then what do you do when the pain returns? Most of us go through the cycle again.
What most people don’t realize is, when they suffer recurring back, neck or shoulder pain, or ongoing tension headaches, or chronic pain anywhere, it’s the final step their body and nervous system take to let them know there is a problem.
We all feel the occasional twinge, but we “tough it out”, not too concerned about the cause or preventing it from getting worse.
Most of us understand the importance preventative measures like blood tests, fluoride treatments and x-rays in detecting and/or preventing problems before they start.
But, just like a heart attacks and strokes are the ultimate symptom of undetected issues that build up over time, so too is back pain the final revelation of a problem that may have been prevented.
